Becoming A Maids Carer

Becoming a Maids Carer

It is our mission to help adults in our community live confidently and age gracefully in their own homes for as long as possible either through supporting individuals directly or offering respite services to unpaid family carers. We choose to make a positive difference to peoples lives and their families who love them.

Most of our clients will require additional help with everyday living but do not relish the thought of residential care. We offer a cost effective alternative to residential care.

Our tailored care packages are built around the person rather than the task. As such it is essential that our staff really understand the benefits that quality companionship brings just as much as assistance with practical tasks.

Examples of our home-based support can include every day domestic tasks such as, cleaning, linen, laundry, shopping errands and social engagements, household admin, meal preparation and personal care all in the context of companionship and quality time.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking carers who are warm-hearted and compassionate people who love working with adults who require additional support in our community of Torbay.  Professional experience is not necessary as full training is provided, life experience is essential.  You can find more information about being a carer and all the training we provide to our new staff when we meet you.

The hours that our staff work vary hugely depending on the clients support, but are best suited to people who are able to work flexibly. We will do our best to get you the hours that you are looking for as soon as possible, we cannot guarantee start dates or the matching of clients straight away.

You must have a full driving license and vehicle in order to undertake this type of work. All prospective carers are put through our recruitment process, which includes an initial informal coffee and a chat, recruitment open day, interviews, training and the usual background checks you would expect.

The work may take you all over the local area. There will be plenty of opportunities to further your training and qualifications in care with us if you wish. We provide very generous packages looking to pursue professional qualifications.

Should you be successful in obtaining post with us, a high degree of flexibility will be required as we train you, and get ready for work and get you matched to your first couple of clients. It can sometimes take a few weeks from an interview until we can secure work for successful candidates.
